I was tempted to move back to Blogger, but I did a little research and read some scathing reviews of Google loosing people's blogs into the recycle bin of life, never to be found again. So I took the leap of doing my "own" website.
The reason - well, simply put, I wanted greater control. I wanted to be able to use Google AdSense. Yes, this may make me look money grabbing, but I cannot guarantee you'll click on any of links, and even if one caught your eye, you don't have to click - although, if you did, it may make some pennies for me. It also allows me to link to books/products I review through that particular company's affiliate programme, without actually breaking the Wordpress t&c's.
The thing is, I think this website has a nicer format than Wordpress; which was definitely a better platform than Blogger. Blogger is a very basic format, and a lot of first-time-bloggers use it as a starting point. Wordpress, on the other hand, is more complex, but a much better looking site. It feels better to use, though not necessarily easier. And it definitely looks more professional. But, unless you have shed loads of traffic, there is just no way to generate money - even if it's just a little bit of money.
So, I took the plunge, and came to Weebly. Please excuse me as I transfer all the old posts onto here (it's not a simple case of one platform allowing you to export to another platform - I've got to click, copy and paste. I mean, how primitive...? Hehehe But I'm happier, much happier.
So welcome to the new "world of miss.surrey", I'm very glad to see you here :)
