So here we go, the 'About Me' section. Well, it is what you came to this page for, isn't it?
Well, it appears that I have become a blogger, and to top it off, I am a "Mommy Blogger", but I wouldn't class myself as one of them, but I guess I just am. I also wouldn't call myself "Mommy", I am British after all, and Welsh to boot - so that would make me a "Mam", and I am proud of it!
Firstly, let me set the record straight - Surrey is not in my name and I do not come from Surrey (as my mini 'Author' bio states). My very good friends, all the way in Slidell, Louisiana, thought that you pronounced my name as "Surrey", and it has since stuck. And I'm not complaining, it's cool having a nickname (even if it is only those four lovely ladies that call me it!).
I am a mam, I am an ex-student, I am an alien, I am currently a job searcher, and I am a blogger. I do some work for charity, and I like to help fight for what I believe is right.

I like to read. Scrap that, I love, love, LOVE to read. I just have a lack of reading opportunity. I used to be part of a book club, the 'Book Club for Really Cool People' no less, back in my home town. Not that much book discussion took place - plenty of wine drinking though! And to be truthful, I still didn't find much time to read the assigned book....
As I said, I am an ex-student. Naturally, everyone is an ex-student (specifically from education, everyone is a student of the University of Life!), what I am referring to is that I am an ex-university student. I went to Prifsygol Glyndwr University, and I studied Broadcasting, Journalism and Media Communications. It took a long time, 6 years in fact, and I gained a TBC. I got to produce a video, work on publishing, do some radio work and I learnt something about journalism law - and I have realised I do not like law!
My dream career... I always thought that it was to work in publishing. A tough business to get into, where a love of books just does not cut it. But since dabbling in the publishing world, mixed around many other responsibilities, I've come to the conclusion that it just doesn't rock my boat like I thought it would. So I am still discover my dream career. Can someone do that for me....?
I have helped publish some books - A Cuppa and an Armchair, and Cookies & Milk Volumes 1-3 (all four of these are to raise money for a Wrecsam based charity Equipe, that works in the third world). I have also helped publish two books of short stories: Leap Day, and Six From One, both by Mozart; and two business development books: More Than Just A Number, and A Change For Good, both by Carrie Foster.

I have two beautiful children - they will be named "The Girl" and "The Boy"for privacy reasons. I have one sister, two parents, and one amazing boyfriend ("bf"). I have some great friends, both near & far, which will be sprinkled among the blog posts, so be prepared to meet them. They can be a bunch of Wally's...
