I'm excited, are you excited? I'm excited. I think I will leave Ellie to do the panicking. Maybe it is because she has been through a book before, maybe it is because she is also working whereas I am just a student. I don't know, but all I can say is, all I have is excitement.
Though, to be truthful, at this moment, I am as tired as I am excited. I must go pick up my children in less than an hour, and then when we get home there is dinner to eat, showers to be had, beds to be filled with little bodies, and very likely one of these said bodies will be up and down, up and down, filling their younger brother's bed with plastic food and every possibly stuffed toy she can grab her hands on.
I am not sure how much more I can get read tonight, but I will try. The thought of working out which case studies to contend with on the basis of contempt of court is far less interesting than reading potential entries in to my baby.
But I am excited. I am glad we reopened the deadline. I persuaded my best friend to write. She is good, although she finds it hard as she writes in German, not English. I am hoping it passes the panel. I also have a slight, out there kinda hope, that my other best friend changes his "I'm a rubbish, I'm quitting" attitude, and sends something in. He gets back of holiday on Tuesday, and we set the new deadline after he had left. I'm hoping he sees it and goes searching, or writes something new. Everything that I have that he has written is either way over word count, or is too personal to his audience. He is a blogger, after all. His writing skills have yet to be appreciated by someone that can actually make him some money.
There is also the little matter of cover design..... whooooo. Yes, anyone interested, the competition deadline is Tuesday October 18, 11.59pm and voting starts Wednesday October 19. If you want to enter, send your picture/illustration here.
Details of the new writing deadline are.... Monday October 24 at 5pm (British Summer Time) Nothing will be accepted after this time. So please, please for the joy of having your work put forward for publication, and for knowing that you could be helping to raise vital funds for Equipe, send your submissions as soon as possible. We need more children's short stories - we don't want to have to wait until Easter to release the children's cook. We want them both out for Christmas.
But here we go now. I just wanted to let you know that I am reading, I am excited, and I am tired and wishing Reading Week was here already, so that I could forget about university for just a few days and concentrate solely on this. Maybe next week....
